Basic Heating | Expanded Heating | Cooling Coverage | Additional Coverage
Over the years, home comfort needs have been met with increasingly efficient, complex and often interrelated systems. Traditional service policies have only provided you with the basic preventive maintenance and repair of limited portions of these systems. We are proud to offer a complete package of comprehensive and flexible service plans to assure the optimum performance of your home's system at a readily defined, economical cost.
SUPERIOR SERVICE FROM SERVCO OIL
- Servco strives to provide the best service available. After all, service is the basis of our name.
- Servco employs one technician for every 300 customers; the area average is one technician per 750 customers. This allows us to get to our customers quickly and spend the time required to do the job without rushing off to the next call.
- Servco performs your annual tune-up with the most modern equipment available. We take the time to do your tune-up right, which will reduce future emergency service calls. We adjust each unit for the maximum possible efficiency.
- Servco employs only licensed and trained technicians; we never use subcontractors for our service work. This allows us to better control the quality of the work our technicians perform.
- Servco offers true 24-hour service. That means we are available to service your unit 24 hours a day - not that it will take 24 hours to get there.
- Servco is one of the few oil companies that will service, repair or replace every part of your heating or central cooling system, not just the burner and controls.
- Servco stands behind our work. If we don't fix the problem the first time, we will never charge for a repeat call. All our installation work is fully warrantied.
YOUR OIL HEAT SYSTEM
No matter what fuel you use, the heat it creates is distributed throughout your home in one of three ways: hot water (baseboard), steam (radiators), or warm air (vents). Two are described here. While the system you have may look a bit different, it is operating on the same principles as those below.
HOW OIL SYSTEMS MAKE HEAT
Your thermostat (1) has a sensor which measures room temperature. When the temperature drops below your thermostat setting (or you raise the level above the room temperature), it sends a signal to the controls. (2) on your burner (3) to get into action.
A fuel pump (4) draws oil through a filter (5) to your burner. It turns this oil into a fine spray, mixes it with air, and ignites it in the combustion chamber (6), causing the chamber to get very hot.
What happens next depends on the type of system you have:
- If you have a Hot Water (Hydronic) System (upper right), water circulates around your boiler's (10) flue passages. A circulator (11) pumps the hot water through radiators or baseboards. An expansion tank (12) adjusts to varying pressures.
- If you have a Warm Air System, air absorbs heat in your furnace's heat exchanger (7). A blower (8) send the air through ducts (9) to heat your home.
Eventually, the water or air returns to the unit to begin the cycle again.
If you have a Hydro Air System, it combines the characteristics of hydronic and warm air systems. A hot water boiler heats the water, similar to a hydronic system. The water is circulated through a heat exchanger coil in an air handling unit. The air is moved across the coil by the blower, absorbing heat and distributing it to your home. The same air handling unit may have a cooling coil to provide air conditioning through the same system.
Steam systems work similarly, except that steam is generated and rises to the radiators (no circulators are needed). A low water cutoff prevents damage to the boiler by shutting it down in case water levels drop too low.
In all systems, the combustion emissions go up the flue (13), never mixing with either the air or water going through your house.

Air Conditioning coverage is available under one of the following plans.
Please see terms and conditions.
- In case of multiple units at one location, coverage must be purchased on all systems. If the air conditioning unit is connected to an oil-fired furnace, the oil system must have Expanded Coverage in effect on that furnace.
- If the air conditioner is connected to a hydro air system, the oil system must have the Expanded Coverage in effect and the additional coverage on the air handler(s).
- If the air conditioner is connected to a cooling only air handler (coverage same as hydro air)

Cooling Comfort Services
- Annual air conditioning tune-up is included for maximum air conditioning efficiency. It may be performed in conjunction with a heating system tune-up in the spring.
- All labor charges for covered parts are included for system repairs during normal business hours.
- If the compressor fails under the manufacturers warranty, it will be replaced with no labor charge.
- 10% discount toward out of warranty compressor failure. Discount applies to compressor, condenser, refrigerant, dryers and labor.
- All labor repairs, after customer approval, will be billed at our normal rates for parts and labor, less 10% discount.
- No charge for the usage of refrigerant recovery equipment on a compressor replacement or refrigerant leak repairs.
- In cases where larger than ¾ hp or special motors are required, they will be billed in the amount exceeding that of a ¾ hp motor.
- Work performed after normal hours will be subject to a surcharge of our hourly rate.
Refrigerant systems requiring recharging more than once a year are considered to have a major leak. Searching for and repairing major leaks is not covered under this agreement. We will, with your approval, search for and repair these leaks at normal rates at a 10% discount.
Air conditioning units run on high voltage, therefore service on the outdoor section will not be performed during inclement weather or after dark due to concerns for the well being of our technicians.
