Why Do I Need TankSure?
Just like the roof on your house or tires on your car, your heating oil tank has a finite life-span. Oil tanks contain hundreds of gallons of fuel and they typically corrode from the inside out. Therefore, your tank may look perfectly fine, but it could be wearing excessively thin in spots. The ultrasonic testing process we perform will allow us to give you a sense of security - or advance warning of a possible problem.

What Benefits Do I Get With TankSure?
Our trained technicians will conduct an annual ultrasonic tank test. You will receive a Tank Inspection Certificate, which is a valuable record if you ever plan to sell your home. Most importantly, should your tank be in need of repalcement you will receive up to $1,000 credit toward a new tank. This is an important safety check and a valuable economic benefit for our customers.

How Does TankSure Work?
A TankSure-trained technician will conduct an ultrasonic test (similar to a medical ultrasound) of your tank every year which may be combined with your annual service. The test measurements are registered with Boston Environmental and analyzed by their tank analysis software program. This data will create a tank itengrity profile and will be used to determine if or when the tank should be replaced. Once your tank qualifies and is registered, the TankSure Program provides you with a tank payment credit that covers up to $1,000 of the replacement cost of your tank. This is a valuable and unique benefit.

VisiTank^®

VisiTank is a remote system that monitors key elements of your heating system — the oil burner, the oil tank and room temperatures — and alerts our office through your phone line at the first sign of a problem. Homeowners, especially those who travel in winter, appreciate the security that the system provides, virtually eliminating worries about property damage due to a fuel run-out or a heating system failure.

VisiTank uses a variety of sensors and connects by modem to the telephone line so that it can auto-dial our office.

Oil Tank: A sensor on top of the tank* checks the fuel level daily and transmits the information to our office. If your supply is low, we make a delivery. *Aboveground tanks only

Oil Burner: VisiTank monitors the oil burner to check for a "lock-out" condition, which indicates that the burner is not functioning. If it detects a burner lock-out, it sends an alert to our office.

Room Temperature: Temperature sensors that communicate with the central VisiTank unit can be placed wirelessly throughout your home or business. If a sensor detects that the temperature has fallen below a predetermined minimum, VisiTank notifies our office immediately.
